The town of Esquipulas is located 30 minutes from Manuel Antonio/Quepos into the rainforest mountains alongside the Naranjo River. The river and waterfall are just a few minutes walk down a trail from your tent. Esquipulas has just a few local families and is very quiet and safe. Mostly you will hear the birds singing and the sounds of the river flowing by.

It is best to have a car to arrive at Chorro Ecolodge. 4×4 is not necessary but the last 3.5 km of road are gravel. We are very easy to find and there is only one slight turn you make when driving from Quepos. We can also arrange transport for you, just let us know!

Please use Google Maps or Waze and type in Chorro Lodge for directions. When driving from San José, map to Quepos first and then once there, map again to the lodge. The last 3 km are on a gravel mountain road that does not require a 4×4 vehicle. The lodge is on the right hand side of the road just before the soccer field in Esquipulas. There are two very old telephone booths at the entrance that you can not miss and an elevated sign with Chorro Ecolodge above the gate. Please arrive before dark, especially in rainy season. Because of the remote location it is much easier to navigate when there is still sunlight.
